Carol provides counselling for…

  • Individuals

  • Couples

  • Families

Carol has worked as a counsellor and case worker for over 20 years. She commenced working as a drug and alcohol counsellor in Sydney prior to moving to the Central Coast in 2000 to continue working as a counsellor.

Carol continued to build on her experience by working with unskilled people seeking employment. She then worked with refugees in offshore detention centres, conducting mindfulness groups, case management and one on one support sessions. She then returned to counselling on the Central Coast, to drug and alcohol. She continues to build on her skills by being involved in regular supervision, professional development and formal study.

An old proverb says

“A problem shared is a problem halved”, but most times people allow their secrets to keep them sick. Finding someone to talk to is not always easy and there are many reasons for this.

Without encouragement, change is not always easy. Within a counselling session people have a safe place to share what is concerning them, learn how to trust again, receive encouragement and work collaboratively with the counsellor to identify a way they find appropriate for them to move forward.

So, what happens when you first decide to call for a counselling appointment?

You will personally speak with Carol to schedule a time for an appointment.

During your appointment you will be listened to and the boundaries encompassing the counselling sessions will be discussed with you. If you make a decision to continue with counselling you will be helped to clarify what issues you may want to address.

Over the course of her counselling career, Carol has developed strong listening, empathetic and caring skills which often encourages a person to speak more freely about their issues.

Carol has had experience with addiction and recovery, depression and anxiety, self-esteem, shyness, guilt, shame, rejection. mindfulness, relationship issues, trauma and the list continues.

I look forward to meeting you
